May 11, 2011 – ESPN Milwaukee (540 AM and ESPNMilwaukee.com), is a sports broadcasting leader in Milwaukee. And now they’re broadcasting Milwaukee Mustangs arena football games.
As announced Wednesday on Steve “Homer” True’s afternoon radio show, the Mustangs and ESPN Milwaukee signed a two-year contract that ensures a partnership through the 2012 season. ESPN Milwaukee is now the flagship station for Mustangs game broadcasts. The agreement includes the addition of a weekly coach’s segment as well as promotional tie-ins with ESPN Milwaukee programming and the station’s on-air personalities. ESPN Milwaukee has developed a large web and radio presence in southeast Wisconsin.
The first ESPN Milwaukee game broadcast is Saturday, May 14 when the Mustangs travel to face the Utah Blaze. Game time is slated for 9 p.m. Veteran AFL announcer Matt Menzl will provide the exciting radio play-by-play.
“The Milwaukee Mustangs are excited to begin this partnership with ESPN Milwaukee,” said Jason Clark, General Manager of the Mustangs. “The ESPN brand is widely recognized as the leader in sports programming and we’re looking forward to bringing our hard-hitting Arena Football action to ESPN Milwaukee. This multi-season relationship with ESPN will bring several exciting marketing opportunities to our current and future corporate partners. It will also provide our fans with a home base to tune in to our games and special programming events each week.”
