After a season of chiropractic care, The former 2009 and 2010 Milwaukee Iron Arena Football Team comes back into the 2011 Season - as the original Milwaukee Mustangs.

The 2011 Milwaukee Mustangs return to their roots and a rich heritage of exciting Arena Football action in Milwaukee - dating back to 1994 when the Mustangs first joined the Arena Football League and began league play before enthusiastic, capacity crowds in the Bradley Center. After the founding ownership of the Mustangs sold the team following the 2001 season there was a visible void in Arena Football in the Milwaukee marketplace until 2009 when the Milwaukee Iron joined the arena football 2 league, (af2) the development league for the AFL. After a disappointing 5-11 season in the arena football 2 league, the Iron's ownership joined the AFL in 2010 introducing the team to a new level of arena football intensity and excitement.

In preparation of the new 2010 AFL league promotion, the Milwaukee Iron was prepared to compete at a higher level and increase their training program. One aspect of increased team conditioning efforts was Mark Nemetz, DC, CCSP of Chiropractic Company, who was brought on as the official team chiropractor. Chiropractic treatments were scheduled and maintained by all players not only on game days – but multiple times per week. Chiropractic care for sports players assists in the bodies ability to function at an optimal level of health, increasing reaction time, speed, endurance, and post game recovery. In the 2010 season the team experienced a great deal of success on the playing field with a 12-6 record, a Midwest Division title , and a playoff victory over the rival Chicago Rush. The team fell just short of a berth in the Arena Bowl Championship Game in a second round playoff loss on the road to the Spokane Shock, who then won the championship the following week. Last season's team also featured the Arena Football League's MVP in Quarterback Chris Greisen, who is now with the Dallas Cowboys.

The new 2011 ownership group recognizing the need to further raise the bar on the field and off, three successful and reputable Milwaukee born and bred business leaders stepped forward in late 2010 to create a new ownership group to empower, rebrand and rebuild the team from top to bottom. After careful deliberation they chose to return to the well known and favorably remembered Mustangs team name, while also updating in a contemporary new style, the Mustangs logo and color scheme. Chris Rebholz, Todd Hansen and Dave Bahl have brought a fresh, up tempo new approach to the Mustangs as they build a rock solid foundation and team organization moving forward into the 2011 season and beyond.
